RE: Not a typical VS. post!
I cant figure it out, MSRP stands for Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price, so it takes into account the cost to the dealer transportation assembly and aprofit for a selling price, why do so many people pay more?

I dunno, man, maybe the market your in is more aggressive than mine (I'm in the DC area). I paid $6,299 on the bike, plus taxes AND $700 for the 3 year Kawasaki Good Times warranty. I think it was $7,400 total. Again, some markets get away with charging more fees than others...

Quote: ~$7900. So the tax/title/registration on MSRP ($6499).... tax: ~$415 title/registration: ~$125 then theres freight and assembly (and whatever bullsh*t fees they tag on): ~$850. No extended warranty. But they will work with MSRP if I start adding warranties, lojack, frame sliders... whatever. It sucks because the markets in their favor. People are moving to bikes faster than ever and everyones looking for something < 1100ccs. When you go down the the dealerships the only things left on the floor are supersports... ZX14s and CBR 1000s and Busas. Whats sad is I can probably catch a better deal on an CBR or ZX10 then I am on the 650r, but those bikes are retarted fast. I dont necessarily need that, plus the insurance is stupid expensive.

You've made it very clear that you won't listen to sensible advice to learn to ride street on a 250 before moving up what is really quite a powerfull bike.
There's no point in offering advice that you're not going to listen to.

i dont know if its too late to respond but if your plan is to ride for fun and a daily driver i'd go with the zzr f/i is nice but where you live it probably wouldent matter. at the most it takes me 2-min in really cold weather to get my bike warmed up. and the carbs are pretty well maintenence free for a couple of years, and if you take your bike in for the maintenence to the dealer they can get it done while its in there no need for a special trip or anything. i was looking at a 650 or a zzr when i wanted a new bike... i rode both and i went with the zzr.. i think i would've out grown the 650 but thats just my .02 cents

iv ridden the zzr and own an 07 650. My honest opinion is that the 650 would probably be a better bike for you. I like the zzr's but if your going in that direction, look at the current zx-6R's instead. The stock 650 is not very sporty, but after you put some mods on it such as clip ons and a new windscreen its a very good bike.
