Default Just Got My 650!

So I just picked up my Blue 650 yesterday and man am I excited! I do have a couple of questions thought. The mirrors, I have tried to adjust them several different ways and I still can only seem to see my elbows. Have any of you replaced the mirrors? Has it helped? Next question is the windscreen it seems like it really only helps when you lean forward like you were on a supersport. Does is help to replace it with a different screen? Any advice would really be appreciated. Thanks.

The stock mirrors are useless, I have had my 650r since last September and no matter how I have adjusted them they do nothing. I have seen on another forum that the mirrors off a ZX-14 can be made to work with a little modification in the mounting. On the wind screen problem, I replaced my stock handle bars with Suburban Machinery bars and it helped out. The handlebars are lower then stock and allows me to have a better riding position.

Windscreen depends on your position. For some people it works well, for others it doesn't. You can either get lower bars so you are bent over more, or a taller windscreen. Zero gravity makes a bunch of nice ones.

I don't have an issue with the stock mirrors. I do have to move my arms but any sport I've ridden has been the same. My 6r rarely has the mirrors on it because it is normally setup for track days so I am just use to not using them.

Thanks for the advice. I actually read yesterday on another forum that if you change the handle bar to drag bars then it helps with both the mirrors and the windscreen. So I went on ninjs650shop.com and found a set of bike master drag bars with bar ends for $38.99. The price is great but I am not sure how good the bars are or if the bar ends will make a difference with vibrations. What do you guys think?

hmm, would the drag bars cause more strain/stress on the hands and wrists?

Yes the drop the bars down. I got a 650 to ride up right, so I rather add a larger windscreen then lower bars. I ordered a zero gravity double bubble tall for $76 shipped from BRP.

I dont think that it would for me as I tend to lean forward anyways, due to the wind buffering my head. I think the lower bars would be a little more comfortable especially with leaning forward.

I added a motocomm bike cam and LCD that works as an active rear view cam. Works better then the mirrors if you are willing to spend $300.
