Hey I was just wondering what all of you paid for insurance per month or per year. Could you please let us know what state you're in, your age, what year your 650R, what your policy/coverage is, what company your insurance is through, etc.
These were for my quotes:
2007 Kawasaki Ex650 (649 cc)
Michigan
22 Years old
Male
20/40/10
Collision Deduct: $1000
Comp. Deduct: $1000
2007 Yearly Quote: $1,116.00
2007 Monthly Quote: $94
Same specs, but for a 2006 model
2007 Yearly Quote: $787.00
2007 Monthly Quote: $67
I only pay about $39/month for my 2007 Vulcan 900 Custom and I paid $38/month for my 2005 Ninja 500. I think it's ridulous. Are you guys paying more or less than that?

On motorcycle insurance always check several companies to compare. American family insurance wants $3,400 per year to insure a ZX-14. State farm only wanted $308 per year on the same coverage.
The biggest mistake you can make is NOT SHOPPING AROUND to get the best price. Every company has their own policy on what they will insure for a certain price.

Mark,
I absolutely agree with you about shopping around for insurance -- but something many people don't consider when looking for insurance is: are these people going to take care of me if I actually make a claim. The dollar amount is definitely only one factor in the equation, but an important one none the less.
I am providing the rates that I've found so far, and was hoping everyone could input theirs for the collective informational use of all to benefit from.

I pay $224.00 every six months with full coverage for my 07 650r. I am 30 years old and have $500 deductibles, but the bad part is that for me to have insurance on a 06 636 it was only about $50 more every six months.

i talked to an agent and he was telling me that cruiser bikes are always cheaper, much cheaper actually. he also told me cc doesnt really matter, once they know its a sport bike the price sky rockets.

Perkins, that's a damn good price for your insurance. Who do you go through and in what state are you in? My quoted price was about 2 times what yours is and that was with $1,000 deductibles. I'm 22 and I think there's a big price break at 25 -- but honestly, ****. They're trying to rape me with no lube a little over $1,100 per year.
I think I might have to wait until the 07 650R is a year old, and get one next year when the insurance drops quite a bit. I guess they'll be cheaper anyway if I can find one with low miles that some dip**** hasn't beat up too bad. -=)
Drag, that's not too bad for a 10R -- especially with <$200 deductibles. Do you have comprehensive and collision or just collision as I see you've put deductible and not plural.
