Back from vacation post
Well vacation was a blast! It was as hot as hot could be, but fun nontheless. We loaded my 650 and my husbands 06 FJR1300 on the trailer, packed the van, and headed from Indy to MO. We got a late start (2:30 pm), but made it there by about 11:00 pm their time (an hour behind Indy time). That was on Sunday.
Monday we headed to the museums with the kids. WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL ME THE WHOLE TOWN IS CLOSED ON MONDAY! We planned a day at the museums and Union Station, but all shops were closed, go figure.
Tuesday we hopped on the bikes and rode out to the field where the National Biker's Roundup was being held. It was about a 30 minute ride there, as it was anywhere we went. After waiting in a loooooon azz line of bikes, cars, trucks, and RV's to get in, we finally made it in and rode through to see the different vendors and people from all over the country. There were folks there from Seattle all the way to NY, from Canada all the way down to New Mexico and EVERYTHING in between! Did I mention it was HOT!!!!!!! We located some other riders from Indy and hung with them until late in the evening then headed home.
Wednesday, we took the kids to Ocean's of Fun and World's of Fun. That was an all day hot adventure in itself. We started at the waterpark, but I mistakenly wore sandals and got a freaking long azz thorn of some sort (never seen before on this planet...till I step on it), stuck in my big toe and that MOTHER hurt like a sumbeach!!!!! Of course I was not in the best of moods at that point, but I carried on like a soldier. We had fun swimming and the kids rode some of the water slides. We moved on to to Worlds of Fun, which is attached to the water park and rode tons of rides until the ol' stomach said no more!!!!!
Thursday, we headed back down to the field and partied like a rockstar! Lots of bikes, lots, of food, lots of vendors, concerts, dancing, have I mentioned the Crown Royal or the 1800, or the Seagrams and the Coors, Bud Light, and the Miller Lite yet????? Well all of them were there too on Thursday! Not sure what time we finally got back to the house, but I'm sure we got there.
Friday, we had a cook out and invited any and all that could make it by 5:00 pm. I actually had met a lady from one of my other forumsand she came to visit. It was really cool to finally meet someone that I talk to on the forums in person. We had food galore!! And then some more (always wanted to be a poet). We probably had 30-40 bikers out there at my uncles house that day and just as many people. The grill was grilling, the smoker was smoking, it was really a fabulous day!!!!!I even got to FINALLY see the movie 300..................EXCELLENT MOVIE BTW!!!!! Me, my husband and my father in law headed back to the Roundup later that night. My son even got a "job" working with one of the leather vendors for the day. He made some money and got him and his girly girl a gift! Ahhh, young love!!!
Saturday, my sister and her friend and I all went to the museums finally. Very very nice!!!!! Never made it back to Union Station, but had a good time at the museums.
Sunday, back to reality and back home! The 2008 National Biker's Roundup will be in Harrisburg, PA......Hope to see some of ya'll there, it'll be a blast I'm sure!!!!! Pics are on the way, gotta rest my fingers...........................................

RE: Back from vacation post
Thanks guys, I really did have a great time. The heat wasn't so cool (ha ha), but we had a lot of fun, saw a lot of things, for instance, is it really necessary to ride on the back of anyone's bike with your azz in the air and a thong on, with really nothing much more than that???? Hmmmm, things to ponder for the day. Anyway, I hated to come back to work, butI really did miss you guys!!!!!
