nastybutler- With what mods that were done to the ex500, I don't think bumping up the performance was a factor. Just cosmetics that appealed for that rider is what I gleaned from the pics. Cheap experimentation is always fun to do.

hmm i agree, ya i would buy a zx6r if i had the money and more over the credit, but since such things dont avail me, i need to make due with what i got, i dont think that it is all that much money fora tail, in fact it is only about 150 for the sub frame then like 200 for the plastics, and a buddy or something for a welder, i firmly believe that you should NOT do this mod if you have any doubts on it, such as say you get all the parts and the tail cut off, but you dont have ANYONE or any access to a welder, then you would have a broken bike and scrap... so unless you have all of the materials and i say again which arent expensive, and all the know how, then dont do it...

in afterthought...
i only put this pic up as a piece of notoriety, i like it... and DO hope do do this someday

i disagree a bit on this subject...this isnt about speed per say its about adjusting a bike to suit the rider, and personally i love the look of the one that has the lower exhaust , i think it looks extremely clean and gives the 500 and sportier look , totally changes the appearance of the 500. if i had access to do the changes id really consider it. im not sure if id go buy a zx6 instead to get this look , and im sure the manueverability wasnt compromised...once again i really like it and applaud someone who goes out on a limb for something like this, especially here imo they pulled it off

Thank you for the compliments.....

I did not do it to copy say and r6 or zx6r. Just wanted to make my ninja 500 different from anyone elses. If I had a zx6r I would probably hack something off it to change the look too.

$300 to sit at a stop light next to another ninja 500 and have the rider not realize we are driving the same bike is priceless..

UpSwept exhaust? I made the mid-pipe myself. The header is still D&D.

Yes I am him, heard my bike was being talked about on another forum so I had to check it out....
