Default time to buy....last questions

Been lurking here for a few weeks, reading up, doing other research online. I'm getting an '07 500R. I'm pretty excited about it. I did my homework and know the invoice and all that stuff. Read posts about buying a new bike and what was paid for them. Seems like 5100-5200 OTD is a good deal. Here is what the dealer near me offered me last week: $5300 OTD, $69/mo (down from the special 99/mo), 0 down, and a $1k gift card. Should I take that deal or try to get the 5100 OTD with the card? I want to see if I can get them to throw the 500 mile service in too.

If I can get them to do the $1k card and the 500 mile service for free, what do you think is a fair OTD price? I'm less concerned with monthly payment cuz i have $2k in cash and can have the bike paid off in less than 6months. I need to know soon, I plan on buying this thursday (24th). Any help to my questions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, i'm a total car nut and have been modifying my Camaro for years (quite a beast currently ) and I'm looking forward to modding the bike too (nothing for stunts though....not my style). Already ordered my Lockhart Phillips Tinted Screen, and the Emgo mirrors.

if your going to do the kawai card watch out becuase they will jack up your interest rate after the 24 months is up. I would try talking him down or just get regular financing and ask for the gift card and the bike for 5200. and see if they will take it.

they said the only financing currently available was 15.9%, didn't change at any point in the loan.

15.9%?!?! Ooof! Might as well put it on a Citibank usury-special card and ask them to shoot you in the kneecaps before you ride it off the lot.
If you're looking to save money (and late Spring is decidedly NOT the time to buy a bike if this is the case!), at least go to another dealership and see if they can give you a better interest rate. When a salesman senses how hungry you are, they aren't even going to look twice to find you a better rate.
Because this is absolutely every dealership's favorite time of year, the other dealership may not offer you much better, but the best you can do at this point is to get them to try to out-do each other.
(And good-thinking, going for the first service--I'd take that over a $1000 gift card (which might only be applicable to certain products, availability, dates, etc.)
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Peace!

Yeah 15.9 is pretty high, my bank will do 8.5, but they wont do the 69/mo for 24 mo. Then again they wont jerk you around on intrest rates and stick you with every fee they can find either. Just remember you dont have to finance through Kawasaki no matter what the salesman says.

Oh andI do have a Citibank Student Visa card at 15%, can you believe they approved me for a 4k spending limit? They sure know how to get money.
