Picked up a set from Twistedthrottle.com, full rear vision as it should be. A little pricey, about $60, but well made and perfect fit.

 

Got any pics of them on your bike? Curious to see how they look.

 

SIXTY?!?! For that much, you can get an OEM pair of mirrors from the '02-'03 ZX9R / '05-'06 ZZR600 that will stick out an inch further and look MUCH nicer.
OR if you want to save a little dosh, you can get the Emgo aftermarket replacement mirrors for this models. They bolt directly onto the 500 with no mods and they vibrate much less too:

I wasn't sure the ZX mirrors would do the trick, these extend the mirrors 40mm and rear vision is very good. Can I send a pic to someone to host later, headed out to work, Jim.

There is a quick pic. Widest thing I could find at 40mm and I wanted to be sure to spend my $ on a fix I was sure about, didn't want to have to get these anyway after buying other mirrors. Money well spent IMHO, definetly gives a clear view of the following traffic. The SW Motech stuff is top notch by the way, very nice products, I had some of their stuff on my ZZR1200s and KTM 950. Might be even better with the wider ZX mirrors, now that I think about it,,,,,Jim.

 

They look good! I thought they'd look odd sticking out so much further, but they don't look bad at all! Money well spent in my opinion! What good are the mirrors if you can't see outta them.

I have no problems with mine, just tuck my elbows in a bit and I can see no problem.

 

since i'm still shoping around for the bike, i should make this part of the deal when getting a new one (tell them to replace them with a set of these)

so either one of the 2 will work on the 500R with about an inch more out..... sound pretty cool!!! def. must do mod after I get my bike!!!
