we basically have the same size inseam. so a 500 you should be comfortable on with both feet touching the ground. a few things that can be done, lowering, but you loose some ground clearance. or you can have the seat redone so it sits a little lower. i dont think youll have any problems on a 500 stock though. have you sat on one ?

yea ive gone to some dealerships and sat on new ones but never something from the 90's. but from all my research it seems the 500 has never changed except for wheel sizes (i think) so id imagine u sit on one u sit on all. my friend had a hayabusa (until someone stole it last week) and i could move it out of the way so i could park my car but it was lowered some 2 inches. so is the 500 easy to learn on?

that sucks about the busa. the 500 in my opinion is a great starter bike. once you get the hang of it it still has some room to open up, so it should keep you happy for awhile. just like with everything, start slow, take your time. id say a 250 but i think youd get bored with it fast, even though i still want a 250 how did the 500 feel when you were on it at the dealer ? theres a member on here named heffay that has a older 500 and hes pretty knowlegable on the 500's shoot him a pm and ask him about the seat height on the older models, i bet he would know for certain.

i was thinking about the 250 but id be doing alot of freeway miles from long beach to anahiem (ur from so cal right?) and from what i understand the bike wouldnt last long with all that high rpm driving. oh and yea, ur right, id get sick of it after a few months. i got to ride on my friends old r6 and wow, that was fast. plus i miss my trans am. can u say addicted to speed? haha

MSF course. While we're on the subject go find yourself some gear, helmet, gloves, the whole nine. Be careful out there. It's when you think you're most confident that you've learned it all that an accident happens.
