Default quick Question on tire size.

Ordering new tires. Will these fit the '06 ex500?

front: 120/70V/17
back: 140/80V/17

main concerns are, is the front tire too big? and for the back tire, the profile is ok?

You are fine on the front, but the rear tire would need to be lower profile. I believe a 60 or 65 series would work. i.e. 140/60/17.

man.. alright.. imma just order the stock size(and save sum dollahz). lowest 140 sport demon i see is 70 profile. i hear wider tires makes it harder to turn in = more stable.

If clearances at speed are not a factor, do not forget about your geometry and suspension changes to meet your needs.

just replaced the back tire, with stock size demon and took it for a test ride @ freeway. Seems to be a lot more stable at high speeds and I was grinning all the way to 127 (indicated). Not sure on the turns yet, I keep being reminded of chris from c;bad when he got his new tires.

did the string thing as well and found that the alignment markers are way off from each other. cant believe I used the markers on my stockies, no wonder I was getting speed-vibrations/slapper action.

still using the stock bridgestone on front. still has plenty of threads (looks like 75%), wondering if I should replace that as well.

Most manufacturers design their tires to work asa set....so optimally you would run the same pattern/tire front and back. This will probably become more apparent if/when you ride in the rain. I'd get the front if you can afford it.
