this is my girlfriend's 87 ex500
we just got it running today... after driving it back from chicago to boulder, new batt, new chain and sprockets, new surachu race pipes, new carb kits and new/used carbs from ebay.
i didn't manage to investigate the choke before i installed the carbs... anyone know choke on = more or less air? reason i ask is it runs ok with the choke on but, not well with it off... would help me to tune if i knew which way i was going![Smile](https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

choke has nothing to do with air, it has to do with fuel. if the choke is on, it ritchens the pot=adds more fuel. off it does the oppisite=less fuel, leans it out, or in this case returns it to the regular fuel setting
