Default numb feet

as i've been going on longer and longer rides lately, i find that my heels start getting tingly/numb/painful after 30 min of riding (without shifting, ie freeway). What should i do to keep it from being uncomfortable. btw, i'm 5' 10" and 180lbs. I tried putting my feet up agains the passenger footpegs, and that helped a little. Is that a big no-no? I wouldn't take corners like that but it was more comfortable.

I've ridden less comfortable bikes more than a thousand miles in less than 24 hours without getting numb feet.
I recommend learning how to relax in the riding position and perhaps trying other protective footgear.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Peace!

its the stock footpegs. I've got some Alpinestar 1-0-1 shoes. I'm relaxed just fine, it just seems my feet get uncomfortable after a while.

My right hand goes numb but 636's have a good amount of vibrations in the bars. When I've got my oxstar boots on I do feel more vibratsions in the sole then I do when I wear steel toed boots. Doing 400+ miles in one day I havn't had any numb feet. Have you tried keeping the ***** of you feet on the pegs? I know when I'm on the freeway I just sit back rest on the tank and rest the ***** of my feet on the pegs. Also I would think the 500R would have less vibration then a 636 because of the ruber on the pegs. Then again it very well might be causing more vibration. You finish your break in yet?

What size shoe to you wear. I'm 9.5 my oxstars are size 10 if they fit you give them a try and see if you still get the numbness.

i tried putting the ***** of my feet on the pegs and that helped, although the position made my legs a little sore, but it was manageable.

If the soles of those 1-0-1s are too soft, that could allow pressure from the pegs to cut blood circulation. You probably need boots with stiffer soles.
