New Battery recommendation

New Battery recommendation
Well despite the fact that I had my battery on a trickle charger over the winter, it appears to have died.
Specifically even though it shows a full charge, it dies after about 3 cranks (which isnt enough for a bike thats been sitting for a few months).
Any recommendations on a good replacement? There seem to be plenty of options.
thanks

RE: New Battery recommendation
Actually, it may have died because it was on a trickle charger. If it was a true trickle charger and not a Battery Tender (which shuts itself off when full charge is reached) you likely cooked the little guy...
Best advice during the winter is to take the battery out and into the house where it's warm. Get a Battery Tender and charge it up to full capacity once or twice a week. Yeah, yeah, I know; if it shuts itself off, why disconnect it??? I guess you don't HAVE to, but I prefer to keep my battery on a realistic charge cycle as if it was in the bike and I was riding it several times a week. There's not much electrolyte in those little cases. No need to over-cook it.
IMHO

When storing a bike, I usually leave the Battery Tender Jr. plugged in overnight only once a week.
This is only my personal preference, but I'd rather pay a little extra and get the Kawasaki battery. My W650 is still on the stock battery after 8 years and 50,000 miles.
Good luck and let us know how it goes,

RE: New Battery recommendation
It was a battery tender so it was definitely shutting itself off after full charge (if I can trust the pretty lights anyway).
Of course I don't know what treatment (the battery)got prior to my ownership so its possible it was on its last legs.
Anyhow I'll see what the stealership wants to charge me and if its not too crazy.....i guess ill give them a few of my dollars.
