looking for fairings
I recently dropped my EX500 and smashed my front fairing to hell, headlight is loose, theres a huge chunk missing on the right side, all that great stuff, anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where I could get one for less then the $675 + shipping on bikebandit.com? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! This is a great site btw, love it!

RE: looking for fairings
Don't be too disappointed about Ebay exclusion. There is almost always a high-demand for fairings on Ebay, so you might save a hundred bucks, but you're still taking a greater risk that it is damaged, or will be damaged in the shipping. It will always be a seller's market for fairings, because these things (and rearview mirrors) are so easily damaged in a minor tipover. And I chuckle at these pseudo-street-fighters--"Bummer about the tipover, dude."
If you can't superglue/plastic-weld the crack, Ron Ayers and Bike Bandit can't beat your local dealership, and you don't want to go through the hassle of getting an aftermarket fairing painted the correct color, you might as well just get the OEM from your dealership. I promise not to laugh if you turn it into a streetfighter. (Heh--I'm in no position to laugh.)

RE: looking for fairings
I also recommend checking out your local Craigslist to see if anyone is parting out their bikes....
You can repair your fairings with expoxy or bondo... not gonna look pretty for a while but it'll take care of structural integrity. That's what I plan on doing for my 250 until I can afford fresh fairings.
