installing a factory pro shift kit
Hello everybody,
Three weeks ago I installed the Factory Pro Shift Kit in my bike, and I want to share my experiences about it with you. It could be useful for someone.
When changing from 1st to 2nd gear, the older spring didn't enough force to keep the gear in, and with a small jump, the gear ended to change from 2nd to neutral. I thought it was because I didn't use to do the necessary effort on the shift lever when changing. So I decided to install the kit. With a harder spring I was supposed to need more effort to change the gear. And also the spring was supposed to do more force to keep inserted the gear and prevent it from changing to neutral.
The installation of the kit took me 4 hour. The installation guide says that you could do it in 2hr, but as I changed my exhaust system, I had to remove it before accessing to the oil drain screw
After the installation the bike runs ok. The shift lever is slightly harder, but I have only missed the gear once, despite the dozens of times I would have missed it in these three weeks.
For me it's a useful upgrade, although I understand that it depends on the riding style of each one. I hope you find some added value in my experience.
Best regards.
