how to strap down and secure ninja 500r
Hey new to the forum. Picking up my first bike 2003 kawasaki ninja 500R on Monday 1/21/08 (two days) this bike will not have the upper front fairing on it. How do I strap down and secure this bike that I will place in the back of my S10 truck. I have 4 ratchet straps.
I've read a little bit. Do I strap down two by the front shocks? and compress them half way? then...

RE: how to strap down and secure ninja 500r
I've only done it once when I took my 500 to a track day, but by putting the hooks around the handlebar risers (being careful not to crush any of the hydraulic lines, cables or wire harnesses, then cinching down the tie-downs enough to compress the front forks a few inches, that should be enough.
You can also tie down the rear passenger grab-handle behind the seat for good measure.
Good luck and gratulations on the new bike.

RE: how to strap down and secure ninja 500r
ya, when i traded my f150 for my 2005 ex500, it was delivered on the back of another truck, it had 1 strap extending from the bed-hook to around the base of the handle bars, then back to the bed hook again. then the other one was strapped from one hook through the rear wheel's spokes and to the other hook... thats with 2... with 4... go wild..
