headlight electric problem
hi this is my first post i was hoping somone could help me out. My headlight went out the other night in the middle of riding. The bulb is good. At the bulb i only get .04 volts through both wires. Now the way my bike is those wires connect to a second wire. I had metal hanging out so mabye that might have shorted something. I get good ohms from the headlight to the connecter under the gas tank. I checked power at the switch and its the same. .04V Now there is the power dist wire at the switch which is blue and yellow. That has a whole .13 V which is still low. At the junction box with the blue and yellow wire i get the same .13 V so im thinking its the junction box. Batt is at 12 V
Now for the questions
Can somone look in their book and tell me how the power distribution flows?
Where do these wires Red/blk Red/ylw run on the bike.
Say i did short out at the light wouldn't the switch prevent the short from flowing any further?

RE: headlight electric problem
what bike.
At the switch can you check for 12v to ground. I am not sure what each wire does but check for voltage and see if you are even getting 12v to the switch.
What about the fuse?
