Check the chain too for proper adjustment to loose and it maybe making some noise as well.

Brake test is easy as just dragging the rear a little while you are turning, if the noise stops then check the pads.
Well the noise did not stop - looks like I've got a slight warp. Oh well, as long as that is no big deal, I'm not too worried about it. I also need to replace my brakes in the near future. Gonna have to do an oil change soon, so I'll probably do the brakes then.

Thanks again guys! Much appreciated!

If you applied the brakes and the noise did not stop or at least change in tone it may be something else. With that test we wanted the noise to stop or change when the brakes were applied, this telling us that it is something with the brakes, no change means that when the brake was applied the noise is still there. Right!

Do not for get to check your chain, may be loose and also check your tire, may have something on the side of it that is making the noise as well.

The chain is good, not loose at all. The tire and rim appear to be fine - there is some runout on the rim though, but it has been like that since I bought the bike.

So - when I applied the brake, the noise was still there - it did sound a little louder in the one spot where it seems to drag. That is why I assumed the rotor - what do you think?

Sorry I haven't had my second or third cup of coffee yet - my mind is a little foggy

Thats what your looking for, a change. I say check those pads and replace if there low. Hell if it is the rear brake and it is a little warped no biggie, you should be staying off it anyway. JMO

You would laugh if you could see my rear brake on the track bike, no resy just a 4” tube with just as much air as fluid right on top of the cylinder to reduce the effectiveness of the rear brake. Just enough to drag it a little and that’s it.

Opinions will very in the rear brake subject but I personally do not think you need it on a track bike and only use it on my street bike if i am caught in the rain.

I'll get my dad to take a look at it - see what he thinks (he knows more about this than I do!!) I actually do use my rear brake - kind of had a scare with front brakes when I took the safety course [sm=oopssign.gif]

Hopefully they won't be too bad..........I dont' want to not be able to take her out, I'd suffer some serious withdrawals!

Braking 101, class is in. 99.9% front brake and .01% rear brake when stopping or slowing. Oh its lunch time class over!

Sweet!!!! I've been really looking forward to lunch today!!! Get that little break that I need.

Yeah in the bike course, I grabbed a handful of the front brake and completely dumped the bike - I didn't get hurt, but it freaked me out!

Braking is like making love, soft yet firm at the right time. You know what I mean.
