RE: Winter gloves for biking?
Are you on the road?
If you pass a sporting goods store, get some skiing mittens or some hippohands (which is what the snowmobilers use). If you pass a military surplus store, get some trigger-finger mittens that will fit over your existing gloves. They're ugly & cumbersome, but also cheap & effective when your hands are only needed for holding onto the bars and squeezing the brake.
Not sure how this will be received, but when I used to get stuck riding in sudden snowstorms in Colorado, I used to sip a shot or two of peppermint schnapps. (Yes, I'm aware of the dangers of drinking and driving.) It must do something to keep the blood thin and circulating, because it definitely helped me when the cold was bad enough to wake up my old frost-bite injuries.
Ride safely and good luck!

I couldn't explain the agony of driving 1100 miles on a semi-faired bike in words, but possibly in animal sounds.
The trip was a successs, taking about 25 hours, which is further illustrating why I didn't get any speeding tickets. The only recurrent problems was finding an effective mean of warming my hands in a 40 degree enviroment plus windchill which puts me well below freezing. Is there actually a way to do this properly. Advice is greatly appreciated.
