Default RE: 03 500R - Clutch Kit installation

It's been a while, but I finally got my parts over the weekend and managed to fix the bike.

Probably the most interesting piece of the whole thing was the overall length of the old springs versus the new springs. The old springs were signficantly compressed compared to the new. And I didn't need a micrometer to measure, the difference was visually discernable.

Anyway I got the bike closed up and ran it - just a tremendous difference. I was slipping in all gears prior to changing the discs/springs. Now there is no slippage anywhere. I've put about 250 miles on over the weekend in a variety of riding circumstances and the engine was there for me through every gear and every RPM range. Low RPM performance was improved as well as cornering was smoother when the RPM's drop a bit.

Overall a very worthwhile maintenance effort and well worth the expense. It's almost like I've got a new bike!

Great feeling! Glad it worked out. I've never had a problem like you describe, but I do love taking a bike for a ride after doing something like this.
Gratulations and ride safely.
