Why does something always get in the way of progress?

I was going to get the mirrors mounted today, but since my sister just had her baby last night, I have to leave to the hospital now to see her. I should be happy for her I know, but damn, couldn't she have just kept it in for another day or two?[:@]

I'll try to get pics for you guys by Saturday.

This is me starting to get pissed...[:@]

This mirror thing might not work after all. The R1 mirrors have two mounting studs per mirror, and they just aren't long enough to fit all the way through the fairing and mirror support bracket. If I bolted the mirrors up to the fairing alone, I could imagine them shaking like crazy while riding. Also, if I or someone else bumped into the mirror while walking by, the fairing could crack around the base since only plastic would be supporting the mirror.

I may be giving up on this one.

I wish I could, but the studs are are cast right into the R1 mirror base. Nothing I can do there.[:'(]

ah, I did not think of that one.
You can drill those out and still use longer bolts though.

theres a will, theres a way. use the powers within. ok go get some bolts that are the same thread pitch, cut off the stock studs off the mirrors, drill them about 1/4 of an inch, cut off the bolt heads and put the longer studs in the holes and tack it up or go crazy and have them tiged on, or jb weld the mother****ers on. woo hooo im out. [sm=partyparty.gif] <it was one of those nights.
