Wing mirrors...
Hi,
I adjust my wing mirrors every time I set out and they get a bit of a beating because of my bike cover. As a result my left wing mirror isn't very stiff any more and after I have been riding it for a few minutes it is pointing towards the ground, making it hard to spot cyclists and change back into my lane after overtaking.
Nothing in the manual mentions wing mirrors and a search on google hasn't helped... any tips on fixing this problem? I'm heading home for Christmas on Tuesday and the motorway for 300 miles is going to be a nightmare with no left mirror
Thanks,
Jon

The mirror fitting on the stem is usually OK, but the stem fitting to the mount on the fairing can get very loose. This is a hex bolt that's easy to tighten with the alan key from the tool kit. There's a rubber plug that coversthe bolt. A thin screwdriver or knife point will prise this out. Use a smear of Evostick or something similar to put the plug back or it may come out and get lost.
If it's the mirror fitting to the stem, you may need to replace it. To get you home, try Araldite.
If your mirrors are handlebar mounted, then the usual problem is the locknut loosening. At the base of the stem is a nut. tightening this with a spanner stops the stem from loosening.

Feel a tit for thinking it was a problem to start with. I carry a set of alan keys in my rucksack now just in case it comes loose again.
Roll on Summer!
