Thanks, for the info Steve. I also thought about that and as im sure the 500 will give me more power i did sit on a 500 as well and when i leaned it back and forth the same way as i did the 250 it felt really hevy and i was most comfortable on the 250. But i have actually ridden a '03 R1 and so i know once the bike is moving it tends to feel lighter but i will probably get the 250 and if its not enough which im sure it will be i will trade up to a 500.

Thanks, again Steve Ninja...
Glad to hear that you are planning on going with what is comfortable to you!! Smart move, imo!

Hey there Big Rig, I will be using the bike for commuting to and from work. I work in Los Angeles and traffic really sucks, i mean it takes me 1 1/2 hours to get to work and about the same coming home and i just cant take it any more not to mention that gas is rediculous and to make matters even worse i drive a v8 Mustang so i figure i could save half the time and probably even more than half the gas. I will also use the bike for fun on the weekends, nothing to crazy just some cruizing around.

Thanks,

i would go with the 250.... it's a great learning bike, very forgiving.... i started out with a 600 which wasn't bad, but if i had a 250 my skilled as a beginner would have been better..... so good luck on the bike, remember to gear up and ride safe......

good luck w/ whichever bike you choose. i looked and sat on a 91 ninja 600 and thought i liked it and it felt right, till i sat on the 05 250 that I bought last wkend. . I just took it out to get the feel of it and had a great time. I dont think I would have been happy if I went w/ the 600. Get what you feel comfortable on, or you wont be happy from the get go. The nice thing about the 250 is they are pretty cheap and they dont seem to stick around long when you want to get rid of them. Keep us informed on which one you pick

by the way, if you go to kawasaki.com you can check out the specs and compare the wheelbase, seatheaights, weight, and horse power of the different bikes if that will help.
