There are a LOT of factors that go into that. Another forum has aCALCULATOR thatgives "indicated speed" and "true speed" based onsprocket ratios, tires sizes, etc.... pretty cool ... check it out.

I will also say that the 250 engine is designed for high RPMS. She's fine at lower speeds and just humms along the boulevard, but mine almost sounds happy when she gets up over 8k and seems to be really enjoying herself. Personally, however, I would not keep her there all day.
I get the same impression about the bike loving the 8k area rpm. Sounds more comfortable singing high.

I'll put it to you this way... I survived a 900 mile round trip on an Eliminator 125, I'm sure a 250R wouldn't be a problem... and the Eliminator tops out at 65. Just something to think about.

I'd like to know specifics about the electric cruise control when you get done Oldone (make, ease of install etc...). Have been looking at a throttle lock or Throttlemeister bar-end locks, but this sounds like it might be better. Thanks.

Holy ****~! Amazing...

As for the 250, IMO, she runs better at 10,000 RPMs than she does at 5-7k RPMs. People dont understand that this bike was designed to run all day at 10k RPMs. Also, once my tires get warm and the air expands in them, the Ninjette runs like a dream. Its just YOU, the rider, that has to get used to your wrist getting sore, legs getting cramped, wind blowing that you have to get over. I ran fine tonite on the interstate, it was just cold as *****....
