Default Stiffer forks

I want to stiffen up the front forks but think it is pointless to replace the springs since it is not a performance bike. it it possible to put in a taller spacer on top of the spring to give it more preload? I just want to get rid of the infamoud front end dive that is so annoying when you apply the brakes. Ant help is appreciated.

I definitely wouldn't use any type of spacer. Find a set of EX500 front springs. (or the whole forks if cheap enough.) I hear they are a good way to stiffen up your front end.

I meant to replace the stock spring spacer with a taller one to increase prepoad. look here...

Is the stock 500 spring compatiable and will fit in the 250 fork with no froblem is the spacer method does not work?

you just need to lose some weight and don't grab the front brakes.

actually what markmentaill said is acurate, the best way to improve the suspension is by replacing it with the parts from the ex500, the forks and rear shock are probably the best and cheapest (less messy) way to fix the suspension. many parts are available on ebay at a low cost

cool...I will look for some 500 parts. The rear shock definatly needs replaced anyway.
