Default Stator? Power cut

Bike started dying the other day when I was riding, lights began to dim and engine began to cut down into a low burbly idle, my thoughts are the stator needs replacing. Anything else it could be? Definitely an electrical issue. When I revved the engine it would cut back in and be fine. And after riding around for a little bit it would seem fine also.

the stator might need replacing, you got a lot of miles, my brother's 250 needed replacing at 14,000, but did u check the battery first?

battery should be fine, it's pretty new, and i don't think the stator has been replaced at all, what should I all get when i replace it? gasket and stator of course, should i need to replace anything else?

oh and another quick question, kinda off topic, are all handle grips universal for sport bikes? i wanna get some but i'm not sure what will fit the 250, i was looking at Progrip

As for the grips, most are 7/8's (I think) for metrics. If you have a Harley, they're 1" and usually come with pretty dangly things that blow in the breeze.

(Actually, I think they're OEM for pole dancers and come with optional bikini bottoms....)

you dont really need the gasket, but you can get it and it is kinda espensive, you should also got some high temp silicone, and a good soldering tool, and extra wire cuz you might need to extend the lenght of the wires

I really hope it works out well. Its good to see some think the ninja 250 is not just a 400 mile bike and then step up.
