Question for ya, when the safety kicksant switch is broken like that, did it just make a "thunk" noise when you hit the start button? Mine does that now. Hasn't started in a few days. it just quit on me on thursday.
The bike would still start if it is in Neutral. It just kills the bike when you try moving in gear.

The only thing I hate is I forget to turn the fuel on every once and awhile. Cause I am in the good habit of turning it off everytime I get off my bike for more then a 10min.

Should we be turning the fuel off when we're done riding?

Yes you should. It will eventually dry out the seals after the fuel cutoff and flood the engine everytime you shut the bike off. Atleast thats what the MSF teacher told me. And I have seen it in person on my neighbors quad. The fuel shut-off was never in the off position and it would flood after he was done riding. Allthough it make take several years to do this it's a good habit to shut it off.

No it won't slowly use the gas. You must have been riding it pretty hard to hit reserve @ 150 miles. Heck I hit 185 miles and it only took 2.4 gallons to fill her back up. I get between 76-79mpg with my 250. It's just going to and from work @ 55mph then to and from church @ about 45mph.

Yeah, I figured it was just hard riding. Because it doesn't seem too logical that leaving the gas on would let it slowly evaporate.

I ride it hard. It seems kinda gutless. I know I still have a lot to learn on riding, but next summer hopefully I'll be going into the kawa dealer and buying myself a 2008 zx6r with cash. that shouldn't disappoint me in the power.

but i'm going to keep the little 250 for local commuting. or give it to my mom...something.
