I purchased my bike a few months ago. Unfortunatly the guy who owned it before me bent up the rear brake lever so it is almost pointing directly up.
I have 2 questions:
1) Would it be safe to just bend it back to its normal position?
2) Is there any place where I can purchase one of these online? The stores near me want almost $90 for one.

I checked out bikebandit.com and their price was $81. eBay would be your best option in my opinion.
I don't see any problem bending the lever back to it's original position. Just heat it up with a torch to make it bend easier.
