Racing exhaust jetting carb 09 ninja 250
Is it worth the time and money to purchase and replace the exhaust and jet the carbs on an 09 Ninja 250. How much more horsepower and bottom line is it worth the efforts if done properly ???

I do not have any numbers, but it is always worth the time to jet it and get the suspension setup for the required demands. Did a quick search in here and the sarachu exhaust looked bad ***. oh, wait a minute, depends on which face you are looking at,,,,,lol

The word starter does not fit. A good well balanced economy bike for everyone, most likely. But I agree with just ride it and get comfy.

I've heard the bike comes running a little lean from the factory, so jetting is probably a worthwhile thing. I'd like to do it for when I get mine, but I'm not 100% sure what to get. I do know I'm getting an Area P full system and a K&N drop in, but should I remove the snorkel after I jet? I think that might defeat the purpose of rejetting, wouldn't it?

Sorting the jets, if they need it, is the last job after other mods have been done.
I don't think that an exhaust and airbox mods are going to make much difference. Bigger carbs, porting and cams are probably needed to make a significant difference.

my baby ninjette
little late to post but i guess better late than sorry, anyways.....
i have a 2009 250 ninja, exhaust is done, removed the airbox and put the duel k&n pod filters, and went to 107.5/42 for my jettings aswell as having a total of 4 spacers on each slide, and i chopped 2 rungs off the spring (stage 4 carb), couldnt get past 170 on my speedometer prior, new speedy top speed is 195km/h, and at 120km/h my stock rpm's were around 9000, now they are 7800 for the same speed, my fuel effeciency got a little bit better, winters coming so im about to drop 2 grand into the bike ( im planning on having this bike for the next 5 years tho so for me its worth investing money into) in the wpring ( of 2020) i will be taking it to champion cycle to get a dyno test ( unfortunaly i didnt have one done prior so im gonna use Kawasaki's benchline for my test)
this winter will be new front fork seals ( compression fork seal is blown- doing both), new sparkplugs/wires, preformance piston heads and rods, rear suspension, new gasket head ( prevent possible issues- it is a 10 year old bike after all), i want to try to find slightly bigger carbs, swapping current exhaust with a mgp growler and making my own downpipes for it) new ferrings all around ( previous owner flipped the bike so it got it for 1300 (cad) half the ferrings are missing), and i went down this year and marked up the right side, frame sliders ( could get case sliders but my engine dosnt get close enougth to the ground during a slide ( knowledge from experience ), i may swap out my sprokets ( might do that next winter tho because my current ones are still in great shape ( considering i put 15000km on it this year), new lighter and smaller battery, light kit (green), possibily might either add headlights ( like the new 2020 250 ninja) into the ferrings itself ( would be custom work on ferrings while using oem lights from newer bikes, replace my speedometer ( and properly calibrate it- f**k the high speed inaccuracy) and getting cortech super 2.0 saddle bags ( i like to go camping while motorcycleing and it will make it alot easier for me to do so), also gonna be trying out the 6sigma NO2 kit for drag race application only ( no NO2 will be used on the street mainly due to safety concerns)
anything anyone would like to suggest i will be taking any and all advise besides the " why not get a bigger bike"-- because honestly as much as i would love to get a bigger bike i cannot realistically afford the insurance untill im 30 (25 now- 5 more years on this bike and il be able to afford a bigger one) this bike will eventuially be a strick track bike when i upgrade
