Ok..so..um..weinie bike...pea shooter..hmm
So all of us who ride the 250 have heard this somewhere along the lines. I, for one would like to dispute the rumors. I ride with a katana 750 and a roadstar warrior. I keep right up with the Kat and blow the warrior away in turns. I topped speed so far at 120 but I only have 1600 miles on my ninja. They both called it a weinie bike and a peashooter But, Not Anymore !!!!! LOL What's your top speed and opinion on these underrated little rockets?

Well cant say much about the kwakas since i don't own one but my honda cbr250r can bloww alot of the bigger capacity bikes away through corners but it only has a top speed 180km/h restricted or about 210km/h unrestricted and once you get past about 140 it goes to 180 not very fast compared to 600 cc bikes an such, 250's are little rockets just not that good at top speed.

My Hubby rides an 05 R1 that will snap your neck (not stock now at all) and he can't wait to take my little 250 out the twisties to blow a few ZX10's away on the curves. There is a guy that used to ride with them a few years back that had a Ninja 250 and he used to do the same thing in the corners.
I can't wait to learn enough to take the corners!!!!!

I know it is old thread, but I just saw it. I have certainly heard the derogatory words for the 250 as well. The one time I've tested her out and I hit 108mph, but backed off at 12500 rpm. I figure it could get another 5-10 mph if put up to its 13500 redline, but I'll have to find out later. when it comes to curves this thing is impressive, and has bigger bikes beat. My Gf's dad just bought a yama FZ-1 and can't keep up in turns anywhere near as well as the 250. And i get 63.2 miles per gallon!
wonderful, wonderful motorcycle!

Shon,
I don't own a Ninja250, but get a chance to ride one on a regular basis.
At the MSF school where I teach, we have a pair of them. Great bikes. Hold up very well under the heavy riding pressure they get. We very rarely have any problems with them, except when dropped - very hard.
One of them has a tag on it, and I have taken it out on the road and enjoyed it.
Because of it's lightweight, it will corner harder than most of the heavier bikes. Just have to learn how to carry more speed into the corners with it.
How about some more pics of your bike. It looks awesome!
