Oil Type
Is this oil OK for my bike? I know the weight is ok but is my engine a 4 cycle motorcycle engine? I wasnt sure if im suppsoe to use special motorcycle oil or just car oil... sorry for the newbie question. Oh also, I didnt see where it said synthetic anywhere but how can you tell if it is synthetic oil or not? I don't think i'm suppose to put synthetic oil in it. Thanks!

P.S. My first oil change went great even though i'd never used a torque wrench before it was very easy to figure out.. i didnt even burn myself too much. (even though I got oil all over my patio lol!) but it was fairly easy overall.

RE: Oil Type
that will work fine, and yes your Ninja is a 4 stroke. You can also use regular car motor oil if you want to, It's not really gonna make a difference that you, or anyone else will be able to tell. I just use Castrol 10w40.
Synthetic oil WILL say SYNTHETIC if it is. It will also cost a lot more. You can use synthetic in your 250, but only after the engine is fully broken-in

RE: Oil Type
Cool thanks for squashing my fears that i would ruin my bike by running this stuff. I think i will keep using it, its not too expensive and says its made for motorcycles so that's good for me.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

No Prob.
Did you do an early oil change? (before the first 500 miles) Kawasaki says to change your oil at 500, but I did my first change at 100 miles. It's best to get the break-in oil out early.

yeah it has about 75 miles. did you do your 500 miles service already? i'm not sure what to do about that. I will probably take it somewhere to have it done but i'm not sure where to go or how much it should cost.
But yeah, oil change i'll do again at 500 miles then every 3000 or so after.

I did my 500 mile service myself. It wasn't hard at all. (somewhat time consuming though) If you need help once you hit the 500 mile mark, bring it on over and I'll show you how it's done. Just don't go to the dealer for your service, it will cost you big time. ($300-400) [:@]
We still should go ride sometime, I've just been really busy lately. I just got done with the MSF course today, and next weekend I have to take STOP for freakin' ticket I got.

OIL. I had the dealer take care of the first 500 mile check up at 350 miles ... Wow! That was expensive!! But it did run better than new. I just did my OWN oil change at about 1750 miles and I decided to use the Kawasaki Synthetic oil ... wow Wow WOW!! I HONESTLY believe that it is smoother, quieter and stronger! I really REALLY do! I think I'm going to stay with it, although I want to find out what others have experienced, too.
