Does anybody know how to tighten the rearview mirrors on this bike? There are two swivel points on each mirror -- one between the "stalk" and the mirror and one between the "stalk" and the base. On my bike, the second one -- the one between the "stalk" and the base is so loose on the left mirror that the mirror is pushed back by the wind at relatively low speeds. The parts guy at a Kawasaki dealer told me to peel off the little rubber covers at the joint and I'd be able to tighten it. Well, I peeled off the covers (and that pretty much ruins them, by the way). The fitting I found seemed to be a "torx" head bolt which I was not able to budge either CW or CCW. Is there a way to tighten this joint?? Thanks.

hmm, good question. Not sure if there is a tensioning/adjuster for the mirror stem. Almost sounds like the pivot joint needs tightened up/squished tighter for the joint. Check out your manual and fiche. But almost sounds like you need the entire assembly if you are unable to adjust this yourself. good luck and Welcome to KF

I peeled the screw covers off and tightened my mirror arm pivots. They weren't terribly loose, but the slightest bump as I walked by screwed them all up. Now it takes actual force to move them.

Thanks, both of you!! 94Ninja250: did you have to crank really hard to turn the screw?

I snugged it down pretty well. Just don't break the head off or strip it. You don't need it to be THAT tight. But it takes some force to move my mirror arms now, which was my goal.

+1^ and do not use a ball end allen wrench. Kawi bolts are really soft
