Default Ninja 250r (08-2010) Bike questions/comments

Hello everyone. I just wanted to post this thread for any fellow ninja 250r (not ex250) owners that have questions or comments. I'm no motorcycle genius but i know a thing or two about this bike. Hopefully this thread will grow and we can all talk about the good, the bad and the ugly about this bike because i have heard mixed things about it.

MY first question is.......How long will the battery last when it is not being used and is the battery still ok if it is partially discharged?

Thanks

Mike

Welcome to KF!

The battery will typically not survive the winter, of course everyone is different. If you intend to store the bike for any length of time, put some stabil in the tank to prevent the fuel from deteriorating and put the battery on a tender/maintainer. Should prevent most problems on the start up

Welcome to KF and congrats on the ride time.

I use an Optimate 3 for maintaining all of my bikes' batteries. If your generator is up to par, a good ride should put the charge back into the battery after a few miles. The battery place says that I am lucky to be running 5-6 yrs on the same battery. dunno about that one. good luck and enjoy

You can buy an eliminator kit or you can cut it, those are pretty much your only options. Get some pics up when your done, lets see how she looks.

There are several fender eliminator kits on the market. I just installed one by SpeedTactics this weekend. Check out Ebay, and Google "Ninja 250 Fender Eliminator" to check out all your options.
