Default Ninja 250 Speedos are off 10%, Here's how to know your actual speed

Here is an add on where I installed a cycle computer on my 250R. It is fairly easy to do, and out of it, you get to know your 'actual speed' (factory speedo off by 10%), as well as having a clock, and temperature gauge. The only tough part was finding a spot to mount the pickup sensor. On Ninja 250 riders club, they show this mod, only they glue the pickup sensor on the fork. I didn't want to put epoxy on my own fork, so I found a better spot to mount it. Everything else you would need to know can be found in these two articles: Method 1, Method 2

Here are pics to show how I mounted everything up:

The only problems I have found with the cycle computer I used is that the speed readings are delayed for about 1 second, and for some reason, over 60 MPH, the readings go haywire! I think that has to do more with the brand of computer I used. This one was pretty cheap, ($19) so maybe the better computers will work at the higher speeds.

Yeah, it's a bicycle computer I bought at target.

It's nice not having to guess all the time what my actual speed is... except over 60 of course!

HAHAHA, I would not have thought that a bicycle needed a speedo, and that it only works to 60mph. That is cool to incorporate that onto the ride. But again, who does 60mph?

I guess they figured most people can't move their legs fast enough to do over 60 MPH! lol

We have a hill here called 6 mile hill. And it is named that for a reason. When we were in high school, we would take our 10 speeds down that hill, and it felt like we were doing 100+ ....lol
