ninja 250 spark problem?

Default ninja 250 spark problem?

Hey im new here but the strangest thing happened to me no idea what it could be i changed my oil plugs and installed a new fuel filter the other day on my 05 250 went on a test drive everything ran fun much better than it had been went to go start it up today and its only running on one cylinder so i checked the plugs and everything they look fine let it idle for a while to see if it would kick in but nothing only thing that i notice different is the ignition coil seems to be getting hot? so the only thing i can think of is i got a bad plug any other ideas all input appreciated thanks

you say you checked the plugs as in for spark(blue colour)what about compression?

try sticking the old plugs back in. Also check the gap on the plugs and make sure the porclin isnt cracked on the plugs. Then make sure the plug wire is contacting on the plug. Then i would say make sure that the conections at the coil are good to go. Basicly just check all your conections and easilly remedied stuff first. If that dosnt work ill try to look up the test procedure for that coil and post it here tomarow if you have a volt meter and are up for that...

i have an older 250 ninja and the primary resistance is 2.1-3.2 ohms,secondary is 10-16 ohms.can't say what yours would be regarding its a newer model,swap the coil over and see if it fires on the bad side eliminating a bad coil
