Default new ninja 250

I went to look at the ninja 250r and the salesman told me that most people walkout with a ninja 250 at $3995 after the fees and taxes. Another person told me that they bought a new ninja 250 for $3558 after fees and taxes, and they also recieved a helmet for half price. I live in Houston, TX (a large city) and was wondering if anyone knew about how low I could negociate the price. Do you think I could get it for 3500 - 3600?

What the dealer tries to get from their customer for 250R's will vary quite a bit. I wouldn't pay more than $3600-$3700 out the door. I'm sure there are plenty of dealers you can deal with in Houston, so don't get screwed by the one that wants too much.

im a motorcycle salesman in vegas, and the msrp on a new 07 is 3299... its going to be hard to get one out of a dealership under 3700, seriosly..unless they have a lot of extras, which they wont since they are new on the showroom floor...3995 isnt a bad price, you may be able to work it down a little more, imo its not a bad deal

o well why didnt you say that, i know that my shop does not personally have an 06's left, but if you found a shop that did have an 06 in stock, i guarantee you would get a great deal on it, because 07 250's are now in stock, and that 33-35 hundred is within reach, i know that a dealership would have some leftovers, but im pretty sure that they wont be getting any NEW in stock, because the 07's are already coming in, youre best bet would be to call around your area and see if they have any 06's in stock and haggle em down, cause i guarantee every kawi dealer has 07 250's and 500's in stock...they also have 650r and zzr600 07's in stock, none of the racebikes yet, well not in my area anyway

Hey uneducatedstudent, since your a salesman you might be able to answer my question. If on kawis website it says 2,999 for a new ninja 250, how come dealers can jack up the msrp's. Personally my local dealer has it 3,199, but a dealer about 2 hours from me has em for 2,999? Just wondering

because the dealer knows people are out to get a deal on a bike when they go out and try to get one, and wouldnt you jack up the msrp of a bike, to make the dealership more money? my dealership the 250 is 3299 right now..so consider yourself lucky[8D]

a dealer can do whatever the heck he wants, lower the price, or higher the price at his will, as a salesman, its better that the price is higher for me so i make more money on the bike when i sell it...say a guy wants a deal, i take it to the back and get word from my boss if he'll go any lower, and if he does then we drop it down a little, or give the guy some options, but if we go to low on the price, then thats called a mini, where the dealership makes absolutely no money on the bike...bad times
