Default New Bike

I went looking for a KX250F last week and came across a Lime Green Ninja. I thought it was a 600, then I sat on it and was like...this is a perfect bike. I would have bought it right there but I had to at least look for an offroad bike so my friend and I left the store for another. I could NOT quit thinking about that bike. I didn't end up buying a dirtbike (still haven't), but the next day I called a dealer close to me and they had one still in the crate.

was a little apprehensive about rockin' a 250 because, well...it's 250cc and my Harley Dyna has about 6 times the displacement, but I knew that it looked hot , was super light, and felt great to sit on it. So after checking this forum and getting some info on the bike, I knew I was sold. The guy at the dealership told me if I got down there within a few hours he would set it up immediately, otherwise it would sit in the box and likely be sold (apparently every dealer in the PDX area is selling out of these as fast as they get them in) as quickly as the other 2 that came in that day.

I went down to the dealership, and sat on one of the red one's that was already sold. Yep, felt the same. I said I'll take it. I still hadn't seen my bike, but it didn't matter. I cut them a check for $4,052 (Setup + TTL) and came back to pick up the bike 3 hours later.

I could go on and on about how great this bike is. The torque is kind of weak, but you can throttle the crap out of it and that makes it pretty enjoyable. It's not a bike that's gonna leave you on your back with a little extra throttle at the start, so a great starter. The bottom line is if you're looking at this bike and have some reservations about what people think about 250cc, forget it just buy it.

Here's a pic in the garage after I got it.

I agree, I need a fender eliminator. It looks pretty lame stock.

I've seen the KLX's, but I wanted to see the KX. Then of course, I sat on the KX and didn't know which i liked better because the KLX was at another dealer. Since I'm not going to be doing any MX, should prob just go for the KLX 250...decisions.

Yeah, I've had the Lotus since it was new in 2005, and the STI is an '06 built to Stage 4. I also have a stock '08 R32, but I think I want to sell that and pick up more bikes

congrats on the new bike. it is a very good starter bike for somebody that hasn't really ridden much. i think it's pretty cool how kawasaki made the 08 ex's look like the zx's.

Starter bike? lol...... I know MANY guys with half and full-liter bikes that also own the diminutive Ninja250, and ride it when they really want to have fun. Sucks to ride a liter bikeunder 75mph, and a good rider can pilot his/her 250 with the best of them in the twisties.

I agree. I've always ridden "serious" bikes, and I still find myself thinking about buying a 250r (green or red) every day. Here are some pics of my last bike, for reference....(if I can get this to work)
