Default Need to be lowered

My wife has a heart with passion, and can't wait to learn how to ride her 1st bike which is the new 2008 Kawasaki 250R; unfortunately, she's 4' 11". I know it's kind of early for a lowering kit to come out for it, but does anyone have an answer to this problem?

Default RE: Need to be lowered

Hi, there. New to the forum. I read your post and wanted to tell you about my new 250. I just bought the same bike a few weeks ago. When i went into the dealership they actually had one on the floor already lowered. I guess they anticipated the need, which was smart because i specifically went in to sit on them to see if i could touch. And i could, but still not good enough for my comfort level, even on the lowered one. So i asked them if they could lower it more and they said they had two different types of kits. One had only two settings (the one i sat on...$200 Cad, including install) and another one that would go lower and had more settings ($400 CAD, including install). I ended up gettingthe more expensive kit put on my bike before i picked it up. It was very convenient. So, i can touch very well with both feet (everything but my heels) and i feel very secure. Now...i am 5' 3 or 4, but my inseam is that of someone shorter (pretty short legs).

Don't know if they have these kits where you are, I am in Ottawa, Canada. I looked at the piece of paper they gave me that came with the kitto see if there was a name on it, but there wasn't. Just wanted you to know that something does exist for her bike. Good luck finding something in your area. And good luck to your wife, i don't know how to ride my bike yet,and i am unpatiently waiting for warm enough weather and our mountains of snow to melt! I have to wait another two months for my motorcyle safety course! Hard to not want to practice while waiting.
