i think that part of basic driver training should be a whole section on motorcyclists and how to be safe around them

don't be afraid to ride without the MSF course - i've been on the road for a week so far and its been very enjoyable - the MSF course could only make me better.

You should all take the MSF course, if it isbooked go to another county, most people think that it is just get on a bike and hit the gas, but the reality there is a lot to learn about how to lean, a stop and basic control of the motorcycle. I learned to ride before i took thecourse, and still learned things from it.
The book is good because you learn the laws, which you should know, but if you have never ridden a motor bike before there is a lot to learn.

and the one thing I alway like to remember is : "Ride as if cars want to hit you, and make you crash, so dont get confident" that has saved my life before.

One thing I like about the MSF is they make your slow moving balance a lot better. I was at a 4 way stop yesterday about 8 cars back, and I staid about 1.5-2 car lenghts behind the car infront of me. I balanced the whole time and never put my feet down. If I never took the MSF i problably would have walked the bike the whole time with my legs.
