RE: lookin at a 250R
so im reading all these posts and you guys pretty much have me dreaming of the 250...
im totally debating just buying the bike and dicking around with it in a parking lot to get the basics down,
then get my buddy to stop by whenever he has the time... needless to say... my goal is to get this bike and ride it by the end of august...
sound logical?

i don't really NEED to take the class, unless i want to ride my bike on a military installation - can get liscense without it, it doesn't get me a discount on insurance with progressive (think i may switch to statefarm), and my friend used to teach the safety course and raced regularly so he will help me.

I realize to each his own but it's my personal opinion all should take it .I'd like to see automobile drivers have to take it just to raise awareness towards mc riders .You will pick up a few things thru the course whether you realize it or not .

yeah I agree - the only reason i was saying i don't "need" it is because i'm friends with a previous instructor who can teach me the same thing without the class setting.
