Just how loud should your valves be after an adjustment?
As I had posted a few days ago, I did my first valve adjustment on my '06 250. after riding it around for a few days now, I notice the valves are making a louder ticking sound than before. When I did my adjustments, I put as much clearance as the spec sheet said I could for both intake and exhaust. I'm pretty damn sure I didn't accidently go over specs either. does anybody know if these valves are gonna tick very loudly if set to their maximum clearance?

If you set the valves to the maximum clearance, then ya. They are going to tick on ya. I usually shoot for the middle of the spectrum. Not real sure on that 250 specs, but on most bikes, that is where you seem to get the best power curve, etc...
off topic: Lincoln, NE.... Been thru there about 100 times. Saw a real bad accident up that way. I was on 2 heading into lincoln, fixing to scoot to 80 on the south side of town.

ah, been through lincoln eh, not too much to see here! LOL You must drive your truck through Lincoln on shipping routes. I work for a Sterling truck dealership; Wick's Sterling Trucks. Maybe you've heard about it, or seen it on your way through here. there's also a Wicks in Omaha too. Big trucks are all work with every day! It looks like we have two things in common!

Big Trucks, Kawi's, girls and beer..... 4 things!! lol
Ya, I used to run out of KC, then up on to 80 across to salt lake, then into LA.... So, I used to shortcut thru Lincoln.. Some pretty good peoples in that part of the country.. Now, if you get any more east than that, it all goes downhill.
If I ever get broke down in Lincoln, I know where to stop!!
