As a 250 rider I agree with all the statements here and have my own stories to tell, but I must make it clear that the 250 cannot outrace a camaro Z28. I own one and know from experience and calculation of the power to weight ratio that the camaro wins hands down in acceleration and especially top speed even with an auto tranny. Your competitor was just some punk that wouldn't finish what he started.

I am not however tryin to belittle, just calling it like I know it..

It depends on the year of the Z28! My Mom had a 1988 IROC Z28 and it had 180 HP. It was quick, but not fast. My Cadillac would kick that cars ***!

 

I had a friend with a '91 Z28 305cid TBI, and it was Sloooooowwww! There is no doubt my 250 would have been able to beat it, hell, I beat that camaro in my '88 4.3L S-10 blazer!

yeah its so funny when people say its just a 250 but then race if they are in a car n then see what they have to say. if a harley guy wants to race with his fat boy just say yeah how much shaved ***** do u get?? n then its time to smoke the tires or bust out the wheelie, they think a lil diff of a 250 after that trust me

 

i'd love to have a 250. awesome bikes that don't weigh anything and get great fuel milage.

 

Let me just say that when some one says " it's a good bike for a girl" they most likely have never been on one! I hate that crap!! I also ride a 250. but that has nothing to do with being a girl, I traded my ZX 7 for this 250, and prior to that I had a ZX9. It is a choice to ride a 250! It's a damn fun bike to ride on, my boyfriend Carl ( Fever) has a 636 and loves to ride on my 250. Those people are stupid and make me very mad!!! Good bike for a chick, well at least this chick is riding that more then I can say for there lame @ss chick who is sitting on her @ss at home eating chips and watching TV!!!

Some people like small cars and some people like big ones, the same thing goes for bikes. And if it's you starter bike, everyone has to learn some how, and you will be a much better rider for having the guts to start off small!

Ok, then allow me to specify. So long as it is not a stock 80's camaro, this statement holds true. This is for a '95 Z.

 

So true bro... course it dosent matter what ya ride peolple will still talk shiot I get it in another form... people think just cause I bought a 10r that I want to race everyone or like I'm tryin to be the fastest not true.... Some are blown away that its my first bike, and part of the reason I'm in this forum and not others. As long as you enjoy your bike and happy with it all ealse is unimportant.

 

I just posted a note elsewhere about how much I LOVE my 250 ... FOR WHAT IT IS. Every bike - every car - every truck has a purpose, and it really does NOT matter what someone else thinks. If it fits your purpose then it's what you should be on. As my Harley buddy said the other day, "It doesn't matter what you're ridin' just so long as your RIDIN'!" After that, I started waving at scooters! (I thought about waving at bicycles but that seemed a little out of whack.) 2 WHEELS FOREVER!!
