I am turning 16 very soon and have been interested in buying a Ninja 250R. I am from Canada so if its possible to have Canadians reply to this thread but any info on roughly what the insurance costs would be is helpful. From an online insurance thingy from TD insurance they rate is 288 a year with only liability insurance. Is that reasonable?

I'm not an insurance expert, but Liabilty only covers the "other" person in an accident. So, if you have liabilty insurance, and let's say the other person has no insurance, then you are S.O.L.
I carry double coverage, $50,000.....$100,000 and $25,000 with un-insured motorist and under insured motorist. I pay less than $200 a year, but I have an older bike, am twice your age, have had insurance for over 15 years with no gaps in coverage, and a clean record.
I use Progressive M/C insurance. Have for about 7 or 8 years.
http://motorcycle.progressive.com/ if you click the link, about halfway down the page it will tell you the differences in coverage, etc....

I'm not sure. You know how Canada and the laws there can be!! lol lol....I would assume the million dollar liability limit would be the maximum amount that insurance would pay out in an accident, probably one more specifically related to dis memberment or death.
We have a couple of Canucks on here, they wuld be able to help ya out a lil better. Have a little patience and they will be around.
A little cold up there now I bet.....
Are you looking at a brand new 250 or a used one?
