It's very difficult if not impossible to evaluate and/or compare rates without knowing what policy limits you are talking about. You can get liability coverage from $15,000 to $ 250,000 and there is going to be a big difference in the premium charged depending on what you get. In order to get some valid opinions and in order to evaluate responses you get, you should know the policy limits being discussed. I can say to you, " I only pay X dollars, but that's fairly meaningless if you don't know what I am getting for my X dollars."
The same problem exists when people talk about their "full coverage" policies. Without knowing the amounts of coverage, any comparison is going to be impossible. We may both have full coverage, but my policy limits are at the maximum of 250,000/500,000 for third party liability and uninsured motorist protection, while yours are at 15,000/25,000 or whatever. Without knowing the details, we are talking apples and oranges.
The other factors are going to be things like age, prior driving history, location, type and age of bike, etc. All these are going to determine your rate and ultimately whether your rate is high or low.
Good luck and on another point, get as many quotes from as many companies as you can because the rates are going to vary more than you can ever imagine. My quotes differed by a factor of three( $275/year vs. $872/year) for the SAME coverage from different companies.

Insurance in Washington, not required, but you have to be crazy to ride without it. Liability for both mine and the wifes....$80.00 a year.....for both bikes. $300,000 liability for $80.00 a year priceless, for everything else there's Mastercard.

Wow maybe I chose the wrong policy for mine. I'm 29 and have no tix or accidents, ever. I put full coverage on mine and am paying $1000/yr. My policy includes:
Bodily Injury $15,000/$30,000
Propery Damage $5000
Comp+ Collision with a $500 deductable
I thought it was a bad idea to only have liablity? Someone tell me what I'm missing here.
