How long are you keeping the 250?
#41
When I first read this thread a week or so ago, I expected to keep my 250R until next May/June and then step up to a twin 650 or something with a little more pop.
Now that I've really had a chance to ride her a little, I'm starting to realize that while I feel that I'm a competent rider, I'm going to need more time than that.
The big thing, though, is that the more time I put in on the little 250 the more I love the machine. I think I'm actually going to keep her until she dies, turning her into a track bike once I step up (and am ready for the track). Then I'm thinking I'll give the little blue 250 to my daughter so she can learn... the daughter's not yet born, so I have 16 years or so to take care of the bike. It's an incentive to really get to know her and keep her shiny side up :-)
