Default How long are you keeping the 250?

I bought the 250 since I needed to learn to ride and it's a great starter bike, but I've only had it a few months and I want something bigger. Is anyone else out there in the same boat and thinking about unloading the 250?

I stil haven't even gotten mine yet and I already have people telling me that I'll be wanting to upgrade quickly. I'm not convinced though - I love the idea of the good gas miliage and that I'm at least less like to kill myself on a bike like the 250 but that it's still a blast to ride. I'm guessing it all depends on what you're looking for in a bike and I guess you have to start somewhere to find that out.

Talking '08 (250) 'Til the wheels fall off!

I understand "the need for speed" but I am perfectly happy with mine. The gas mileage sacrifice is too much (to go to a bigger / faster bike). I know someone who did just what your talking about; jumped up to a bigger brother bike (ZX-6R). And after only 1 month he's sorry. His mileage sucks AND he has a bigger payment (including insurance).
That's the beauty of these babies; they look great; they're fun; gas mileage rocks! 65+ (for both me and my son). To each his own; we'll be keeping ours for a long long time.

Wow everyone here except Hoedoggy, Welcome to KF

My opinions we all know everyone wants bigger Me, when I decide to get a street bike its gonna be a 500 or 636,, Im on a KLX250 and already dumpin money in it to make it meaner so eventually everyone would want a bigger bike. But importantly is getting something not to big and not to small like the 500 sounds like a great starter bike in my Eyes

At least 2 years, i want to learn to ride it efficiently as possible. I know there is a lot more fun to be had on it.

6 weeks, 1200 miles, and Mine is listed forsale locally. I love everything about the bike, Other than riding it. I am getting a cruiser for more comfort and 2 up riding, and carrying luggage!

I ave had mine for 1 year and 3 months. Yea I would like something bigger but I mostly use it to commute to and from work. So the gas mileage is great. Even when I get a bigger sport bike I will still keep my 250.

Also the wife started to learn on my 250 before she got pregnant so we are going to keep it around for her.
