Mine does the same, My seat also tends to get hot. It's completly normal.. The more air you get, the cooler it will run. But when your going to slow or sitting in traffic, it has no air getting into it, it's just sitting there creating friction.

My car has aftermarket fans, if I don't turn them on... It gets hot while sitting, but if I drive, the temp is perfectly fine.

I see... so it's not taking too long to warm up either? I shouldn't have anything to worry about then right? Anything like working the bike too hard while it's "not fully warmed up yet"?

You have to let your bike warm up before hammering on it! I'm not saying you have to wait for the temp gauge to go up, but you have to let it get in rythm. Don't just start the bike and GO full out.

I start mine, Let it sit for about 1 minute, put it in gear, and drive real easy for a bit until it sounds and feels warmed up, then I get on it a bit more.

But never start and then go right away, same rules apply to a car... that's how people blow head gaskets, piston rings, ect.. there's not enough oil circulating through the engine and then they have smoke out there exhuast.
