GPS on the (Classic) 250R
In preparation to make my 250R more Interstate worthy, (And to just waste money! [8D]) I decided to adapt my Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS unit for the little Ninja. After realizing there is essientually no way to use the original Garmin GPS mount on a motorcycle, I looked online to find the RAM-MOUNT brand GPS handlebar mount kit #RAM-B-149Z-GA23U for $29. (Through Amazon.com) This mount kit will not directly work on the 250R without a slight bit of modification. I had to narrow the aluminum base with a grinding wheel, but this was simple and fast to do. After that, the mount worked perfectly. I still need to install a 12 volt cigarette socket somewhere on the Ninja to keep the Garmin charged up, but I have not yet found a good place to put it. If any of you 'classic' 250R owners have a good idea where to mount up a 12 volt source, I'd love to hear it.
So without further ado, I give you the Ninja 250R with Navigation!
In the third picture down, you can see where I had to grind down the base mount. I will repaint it soon.

Nice job, but it looks a tad awkward. I was just thinking of this same idea, but was contimplating getting a suction cup mount and having it attached to the windscreen. Let us know how it works out in that spot.

I too tried mounting up the GPS with the original suction cup mount that Garmin supplied with the Nuvi, but there is too much curvature on the windscreen causing the suction mount to pop off most of the time. I didn't feel the original mount would be reliable enough for full time use on a bumpy motorcycle.
The pictures I took are with the mount set as far forward and low as possible. Since the Ram mount arm 'floats' on two ball joints, it can go into all sorts of different mounting positions.
