Engine made in Japan?

RE: Engine made in Japan?
I don't know about the '08 model, but on my '06, the engine block has "MADE IN JAPAN" cast right on the crankcase. I would imagine the new engines still are. Many of Kawasaki's parts are made in Japan, but the bikes are usually assembled in Thailand, or some other country with cheap labor.[>:] Only the "Flagship" bikes are built in Japan.

RE: Engine made in Japan?
I know the bike is made in Thailand there is a sticker on the frame that says made in Thailand. But my 1999 honda civic si was made in the USA. The engine was still built in Japan. That is what I am asking. Is the bike just put together in Thailand or is the entire bike made there? The new oil filter did have a made in Japan sticker on the bag. I am sure the engine is put together in Japan.
