clutch replacement

RE: clutch replacement
The ones on CD are missing info ie pages and some are a poor quality. They are scanned copies of the service manual.
You also need to get the base manual and supplement, there is info in both. Not everything is in the supplement and some things have changed from the base. I usually look in the supplement first then the base. I usually have to get out both to finish the job, I cant ever remember torque values and always have to look them up.

I would like to have one of those manuals also. Did you get the factory service manual by Kawasaki? I think I've seen them onCDROM through ebay for real cheap.

RE: clutch replacement
I dont remember for sure but both were around $50. There are no aftermarket for the 250 but the aftermarket for my Katana was the same price as both the 250 manuals, theOEM for my Katana is around $80 so I guess the 250 isnt that bad.

RE: clutch replacement
Hey thanks for all the help mnosbor. The parts came in and so did my buddy from out of town with his bike. I think I see what you mean about the supplement and the real service manual. After a couple of hours trying to the get the clutch back together which involved a couple removals of the clutch cover[:@]I would of liked to of had the real service manual. The supplement helped, but i would imagine the service manual to be more step for step. Well the clutch is great but the bike is still bogging down. It ran good for a couple miles, but once she warmed up i ran up to 10-11,000 rpm and she started bogging down again. I'm going to the carb tomorrow for a good cleaning. Any other suggestions?

Ok well Ive killed the last 2 posts Ive tried to put together so you get the condenced version
I have a few questions. How long have you had the bike? How many miles? Are theyre any exhaust mods? Are there any intake mods like cutting the stock airbox, pods or a jet kit? When was the last valve adjustment? What spark plugs and what condition lean rich worn out? Is the air filter clean and oiled with MC foam filter oil? Is there a correct amount of oil by checking 5 min after shutting off a warm engine on the centerstand it should be between 1/2 and 3/4 on the site glass. Some of the 2000+ bikes have a tiny fuel filter inside the fuel line on the carb end check to make sure its not clogged and add an aftermarket one from a MC shop.
If you clean the carbs you need to use a strand of copper wire from an electicl cord to clean the jets, it may take some looking to find one small enough for the pilot jet. Run carb cleaner through the ports and jets and check the floats to make sure theyre set right. I use honda carb cleaner, make sure you use only MC carb cleaner others may eat the rubber seals. Be very careful with the diaphrams and check for tears or holes.
