First, let me say that I am planning to buy a new Ninja 250 here in the good ol' USofA, but after reading all the discussions about "improvements" that have been made or changes that are planned or desired, and then reading the specs on the Canadian version, I went "Whaaaat?!" [:-]
Check this out: http://www.kawasaki.ca/street_touring/ZZR250/specs.html Essentially the same bike but with everything that everybody keeps talking about ... preload rear spring ... bigger tires AND brakes ... slightly longer wheelbase. I wonder if Canadian parts (like the rear spring) would fit the US version, though. They also have a different final reduction ratio (14/47) but I suspect that's because the tires and wheels are bigger: Front 100/80-17 (CA) 100/80-16 (US) and Rear 140/70-17 (CA) 130/80-16 (US) and that probably accounts for the bigger brakes, too. HOWEVER the Canadian bike also comes with one un-requested option; $6299 Canadian (about $5500 US). We've GOT you on that one!
It would be interesting to see someone test the two bikes side-by-side, wouldn't it.

$6299 canadian. Holy Crap!! They're proud of that thing. Here is a link to a ninja 250 forum that has a lot of info on all three types of Ninja 250's. http://ninja250.kingston.net/board/ I still can not get over that price tag.. wow ....
